Creating Your Man Cave

If you have been feeling like you need a place to escape from the rest of the world and celebrate your manhood, you might need to make yourself a man cave. It's a place where the men make the decorating choices, and can keep everything that their ladies don't want in the main house, such as sports d?cor, video games, etc. A garage or basement is ideal for a man cave based on size and privacy, but a spare bedroom can work as one too.

Consider what you most desire to do in a man cave separate from the main house. If you are planning a lot of lounging and movie watching, you might want to invest in a comfy couch, a hammock of some sort, or even giant bean bad chairs.

If you have too many decorations the room can feel stressful is not the point, so keep it focused by decorating in key areas and staying minimalist on the other. If the main focus of your room is the TV, you can hang your decorations strategically around it. The goal is to create a personalized space but keep it looking like a man's space, as opposed to a boy's.

A man cave sign outside of the spot is the perfect marker for your space. If you get the kind you can flip to alert your presence (like a hotel door hanger) people will know if you don't want to be disturbed.

If you have a bar in your mancave, get a book on manly cocktails and practice creating them for your friends. A beer keg is not the most reasonable for a busy kitchen, but it fits perfectly in a man cave. If you have any desire to own kegerator, the man cave is the best place in the world for it. Any physical activities like air hockey, video games, or billiards are at home in the man cave.

Demonstrate your allegiance to your sports teams by decorating the place in their colors. That take out any questions you might have about color schemes. You can theme a man cave, so if you want it to look like medieval times or beer town, that's your prerogative. If you are moved to wallpaper your walls with movie posters, that's great.

If you are willing to get a little crafty, making light fixtures out of beer cans and bottles can be both manly and beautiful in a unique way. The man cave is a place for you to stretch your wings, whether that it stretching them across your couch, or across your new keyboard.

In any shape or form, the man cave is a gift in life. Take pride in your man cave sanctuary and keep up with the cleaning of the place, invite some of the boys over, and relax.
